I'm pretty sure the JGB never got a review there. I realize tapers have their histories, but they are usually about how they got their decks in. Did Keystone Palo Alto shows have advance tickets back in the 70s (don't think so)? Did the shows sell out? What time did Garcia come on stage? Could you still get tickets at 11:00pm (you could at Keystone Berkeley).

Is there an extant photo the Jerry Garcia Band at the Keystone Palo Alto from the 70s? Freddie Herrera and the Coronas (father and son) took over the KPA when it was Sophie's around early '77. I think they kept the same managers who had been running the club before, but took over the booking (and hence the financial risk).

I have a vague idea that the club was remodeled at some point. I first went to KPA in about 1979 or so, not to see Jerry (never saw him there), and the multi-tiered configuration remained the same for the balance of the club's existence, as far as I know. Still, I think the 1977 version of Keystone Palo Alto was more rough and ready than what it became. Leave it to a bunch of 'effin Palo Alto hippies to talk big about how they met Jerry in the parking lot and yet have no documentary evidence whatsoever.

Can anyone point me to an onstage photo (of any band) for Sophie's/Keystone Palo Alto in the 1975-77 period?Corry342https://www.blogger.com/profile/08049035074121231425noreply@blogger.com
