It came from Steve Brown's cassette deck, tape labeled by Betty, presumably patched out of the PA, so it's probably a master. At some point Steve, like Betty, went delinquent on some storage, and some of his tapes were scattered to the winds. The eventually ended up on sale on Ebay, where AF won them, digitized them, and circulated them. The tapes are badly distorted throughout, and not much fun to listen to. But they are interesting. The one key tidbit they brought to me is the following. After Let It Rock, someeone asks "this isn't [inaudible], though?" JErry replies "No, no. We're just fuckin' around - fuckin' around - nothin' serious." This datum aligns with another independent datum I have just come across, to the effect that the Booker Experience was really just intended as lark, and not as a going concern.
