NAU

People keep asking me about the North American Union (NAU). As one of its architects, I am sworn to secrecy. Blast these Boston Globe reporters!

Too Fucking Funny

So I turned the radio over to Rush this afternoon while driving home to see what he was on about. And I hear him citing this new scientific study that definitively proves that man-made global warming is an impossibility. He claims to be reading from the abstract, which includes a much-too-lengthy narrative about how the scientists involved are afraid for their careers, have been pressured not to publish these results, etc. Rush says he'll post the scientific paper on his webpage.

So I go over there, since it all sounded really weird to me. And what do I find? The following, under the headline "After falling for a hoax, Rush has suspended himself for a day." This is just too fucking funny. What an absolute idiot. For once I am glad I gave in to my morbid curiosity and switched over to his show. Ha ha!

RE: Global warming study hoax

Yesterday (11/7/07), a "research study" was circulating on the internet which claimed to have found the "real" reason for global warming. Even though the hoax was quite elaborate, and the paper looked genuine, a little digging revealed that the authors, research center, and even the scientific journal the study was published in, did not exist. I sent an e-mail to Rush about the issue regarding the hoax, with a copy of the "research study". Unfortunately, my very brief note to Rush was not very clear, and he thought that I was calling global warming a hoax, rather than the study. Even though Rush has told me not to worry about it, and that "the buck stops here" with him, I just wanted to apologize to everyone for this misunderstanding, as I feel that better wording on my part would have prevented this from happening.
